Don't miss this chance to see one of Australia's finest chamber orchestras live on stage! For the first time in Albury, principal players from the Australian Chamber Orchestra will appear playing alongside this country's most exciting young string players. Opening with Vivaldi's Concerto alla rustica and finishing with Dvorak's ever popular Serenade this concert will be an opportunity to hear classical masterpieces played at the very highest level.
Peter Sculthorpe is perhaps Australia's greatest composer and his string sonata, written for the ACO, describes the landscape of this harsh and beautiful continent.
Also featured will be music by Finland's most popular and accessible composers. First, a sparkling and imaginative piece inspired by folk fiddle music, then a major work featuring the principal cellist of the ACO.
